Data is the "oil" of the global digital economy. That data is critical, is an understatement. But equally important is the "quality" of the data. The old saw - "Garbage In - Garbage Out" has never been more true than it is today. We depend upon quality data, data we can trust, for the smooth operation of almost every aspect of our modern lives. Without the data, or data we can "trust", our world comes slows to a point of non-viability or comes to a screeching halt. Data Provenance is about being able to "trust the data" and that is the next major frontier in cyber security....

In the Global Digital Economy - It's all about "Data" and "Trust". We call it Data Provenance.
Among the stalwarts of pristine data provenance is Matthias Niessner, a professor of visual computing and AI at the Technical University of Munich in Germany, who, curiously, is among the few concerned about deepfakes. “It takes a lot of effort to create a deepfake, and what you do really get out of it?” he asks. His take on data provenance, however, is altogether different. “Everything is data-driven in the information age,” Niessner says. “So if you don’t get the right data, your algorithms will make the wrong decisions.”
