Educational background in Computer Science and former serial entrepreneur/founder. I started Allegis Capital in 1996 to be an "entrepreneur-centric" early-stage venture capital firm. Reflecting our history of successful investing in cyber security, the Allegis became AllegisCyber in 2012, the first venture firm to focus 100% on cyber security investing. In 2015, I was named one of "Cyber's Money Men". That year, we raised the world's first dedicated cyber security venture fund. In 2016, we co-founded DataTribe, our start-up studio based in Columbia, Maryland, where we partner with entrepreneurs to co-found three disruptive start-ups annually. As a Venture Capitalist, my primary investment focus is on cyber-security and network infrastructure. In addition to partnering with entrepreneurs to build companies from ideas, I teach New Venture Finance in the MBA program and the University of California Berkeley and serve on an Advisory Board at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business on Innovation and Entrepreneurship. My non-profit interests focus on the Asian Art (I have served on the Board of the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco) and STEM education.
