Filing the Critical Cyber Skills Gap

Most industry experts today will cite the critical gap in trained cyber engineers, reported to be 3M to 4M worldwide, as one of the most significant challenges facing the cyber defense community.  As important as AI and improved automation are to closing this gap, the gap continues to expand.  What is clear is that the traditional approach to adding trained cyber human capital - 4 year college degrees in cyber security - is not going to get us there.  Outside the Box thinking is essential and the timing is critical...

“If we’re looking at the four-year college system to supply enough people for cybersecurity, I don’t think we’re going to make the mark,” says Robert R. Ackerman Jr., managing director at AllegisCyber Capital. “There’s a lot of things that can be done with trained, skilled workforces that don’t have that four-year background.”
